7. What is the difference between an induction hob and the ceramic/ electric hob?

The electromagnetic energy generated by an induction coil reacts only with magnetic materials, not with ceramic surfaces. The magnetic base of the pot absorbs the electromagnetic energy and converts it into heat energy thus making the base of the pan the source of the heat, guaranteeing safety and energy savings. Therefore, it cooks really fast and saves a lot of energy. Can boil 1 liter of water in just 2 minutes, as opposed to the ceramic hobs that take up to 10 minutes and the gas hobs that take up to 8 minutes.

In order for an induction hob to function, you have to use only pots and pans with magnetic base. You can easily check their base by using your fridge magnets. If the bases of your pots are attracted to the fridge magnets, then you can use them. In addition, the induction hobs need strong ventilation. For this reason, if the build in oven is placed under the induction hobs, insulation should be created between the oven and hob.
